Description
Batykhan and his family moved to Aotearoa/NZ from Kazakhstan – a country very far away. When celebrating Novruz – with food, music and dance – they connect back to their culture.
About the Author
Åsa came from Sweden to study for one year at Paraparaumu College. She met her partner, and they later settled in Raumati, raising two children bilingually. When returning to Sweden, Åsa teaches in a multicultural primary school. She currently works in a kindergarten on the Kapiti Coast and speaks Te Reo Māori as much as she can.
