Description
After school, Anacleto helps his mother search for tupa crabs. The large land crabs live in deep burrows around the coast on the island of Aitutaki.
About the Author
Jill MacGregor is a New Zealand teacher and curriculum writer who travelled extensively throughout the Pacific. Through her work in schools, she recognised the need for books that reflected the real lives of Pacific children. Jill began documenting children’s stories, photographing their homes, schools, and communities, and sharing them through simple, first-person narratives. Her work became the Children of the Pacific series, which continues to be widely used in New Zealand classrooms and libraries.
