Description
For many years people of the Pacific have adorned themselves on special traditional occasions.
They use leaves, fibres and seeds, shells, bone and feathers, that they find in their environment.
About the Author
Jill MacGregor is a New Zealand teacher and curriculum writer who travelled extensively throughout the Pacific. Through her work in schools, she recognised the need for books that reflected the real lives of Pacific children. Jill began documenting children’s stories, photographing their homes, schools, and communities, and sharing them through simple, first-person narratives. Her work became the Children of the Pacific series, which continues to be widely used in New Zealand classrooms and libraries.
